Almost perfect

"The brown accents on the otherwise all-black bag look terrible to me. The zipper pulls I replaced with something more complementary to black. But couldn’t do anything about the handles. Maybe it’s just my own fashion sensibilities but it clash of light brown with the black makes this an almost-perfect bag instead of a perfect bag."

Loved the bag, but wish it were larger

"Had this bag for a good bit of time for commuting/travel, and loved it overall. The organization options were fantastic! However, in the end, the size was a bit too small. If the bag had been a bit thicker, it would have been perfect. I have switched to the global brief and couldn't be happier. This bag is fantastic, but it gets a bit cramped when you want to commute to campus, carry a couple notebooks, laptop, tablet, and lunch (even more so when you want to include supplies, a hat, and thin coat). I have now fallen in love with the split in size between the global briefcase and the block bag for use case considerations!"

I’m a bag guy and this bag is legit!

"I’ve been using a Topo Daypack backpack as my work bag for the past 5 years and it was time to find something with more pockets and compartments that wasn’t too big or bulky. The Mountain Cross Bag was just what I’ve been looking for. 4 perfectly sized larger compartments with plenty of storage pockets throughout. It nicely holds my computer, iPad, day planner, and an extra book or two, plus spaces for all the extras and accessories. And like all Topo products, I expect it to last for years!"

This is the one!

"After going through multiple different backpacks and slings, this is the best one I have found! All the organization I could need and I love having multiple zippered compartments to keep things separated."

Well Thought Out Bag

"Loads of compartments with smaller compartments inside them. Love the color combinations. Great everyday bag."

Great work, travel and sometimes diaper bag!

"Very functional bag for basically everything! Fits 13in laptop appropriately without a case which is super convenient. Has enough room for water bottle and work stuff. Only thing I'd change is add backpack straps but if you're cool without that (I was!) it's perfect!"

This really could be the perfect travel bag

"I don’t know why I care about bags as much as I do, but I’m constantly buying and trying. The Wired magazine rave review about this Topo Mtn Cross bag caught me. I have other Topo bike bags and love the design, sturdy zippers, fun colors, and vibe of the company. So I jumped in. It’s replacing a Dakine backpack that has been my go to work/travel bag for years. Frankly, I’m surprised how much I like this bag. It seems small at first. I thought I’d need to send it back. But it’s surprisingly capable. And I love that the smaller size fits under the front airplane seat better. The is plenty of storage and several compartments for organization. The end water bottle pockets have huge capacity. Zippers are smooth and easy to grab with the chunky pulls. And it looks great. Fun stuff."

Steven M. (5/5)

Great bag!

"This bag is exactly what I wanted. I can carry it like a briefcase or messenger bag. It has a nice compact size with tons of organization pockets. My laptop fits snuggly. Can’t recommend it enough!"

A good bag that can use some improvements

"I love this bag! I got the terracotta color. Super earthy and stylish. Functionally it works well enough - my favorite thing about this bag is all the various compartments. What I think could be improved is the size and shoulder strap. My biggest issue is it’s a bit small. I like that it is compact but I wish it was slightly larger. I’m grateful my laptop fits, but just barely (14inch) - I definitely would’ve returned it if it didn’t. The second is that I feel they could do better with the shoulder strap. I wish the padded part could move without adjusting the strap length. Luckily these features are still good enough for my needs, even though they are not ideal and can be improved. Overall, it’s a beautiful looking bag that fits all that I need and is pretty easy to carry."

Perfection

"I could never have imagined a bag with as small a footprint carry my 13” MacBook Pro, my Apple headphones, a notebook, poetry books, keys, pens, other small stationery and enough room for a water bottle and a coffee mug (side compartments that actually work without the bottles falling out all the time. This is probably their best bag."
