Our Favorite Things: Bridgestone MB-1 Build
Share
The Bridgestone MB-1 is a true classic in the mountain bike world. Bridgestone was founded in 1931, making rubber soles for shoes. In the 1940s they started to manufacture bike tires, and in the 1950s they started to manufacture bikes. But it was in the 1980s and 1990s they became known for the quality and innovation of their bikes. The MB-1 came out in 1993 and became a flagship of quality for Bridgestone.

Crafted from Ritchey Logic Prestige tubing, the MB-1’s steel frame was both light and strong. This high-quality tubing set a new standard in the cycling world. Enthusiasts praised its resilience and performance.

Inspired by proven classics and durability, we got our hands on a MB-1 and took it to our friend Max, The Mullet Mechanic. Max is passionate about breathing new life into old bikes and to keep the wheels turning on some true classics.
The parts list for this build was:
- Frame: Bridgestone MB-1 comp
- Tires: Ultradynamico Mars race, red, 26x2.2
- Cassette: Sunrace M9, 11-40

- Bottom Bracket: Sunlite Square taper
- Derailleur: Vintage Shimano XTR
- Brake hanger: Boneshaker MTB
